A Testimony on Natural Remedies

by Dada Damilola

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2 KJV The mind of God towards every child of His is that he or she prospers especially in the area of health. “Why is this?”, one might ask. One cannot be of service to the Lord in poor health; perfect health strengthens the body and the mind to perceive correctly Holy things. A study of the Bible is most enlightening only when done in perfect health and application of the principles learnt from the Word is possible and enjoyable only in perfect health and not in pain of sickness. Most times, we fall ill from the things we eat or drink.

I have often been guilty in this regard, being unnecessarily ignorant of healthful food for the body and its implications to the gastrointestinal tact (G.I). Some time ago I noticed massive expulsion of blood in my stool. At the first I thought it would be something that would disappear not long after but rather the problem increased by the day. I was alarmed. I had earlier come to learn that drugs do not cure disease; past personal experience had shown me their inefficiency to cure and so I set my mind not to take pills except in the condition that I could not access natural remedies. I reached out to a brother who is more knowledgeable than I am in using the blessings God has given to us in nature to help.

I was directed to get some activated charcoal, mix with warm water and take a cup morning afternoon and evening. This was as I strove to keep the 8 laws of health. In addition to this, I was to scoop out some Aloe Vera gel to get about half a cup and drink. This was to be taken by evening as well. On getting this information, I prayed concerning this healing remedy and for the Lord to open a way to acquire activated charcoal. Fortunately, some Aloe Vera was growing by the garden in the compound. The Lord provided the pulverized charcoal and I set about treatment.

Aloe vera

I was to scoop out some Aloe Vera gel to get about half a cup and drink.

One key thing was to commit the treatment to the Lord in prayer and after 3 days I noticed the blood had completely stopped. How joyed I was! What the charcoal and aloe vera did was to heal the inflamed walls of the G.I which led to a stop in the internal bleeding. I continued with the treatment for 2 additional days and noticed complete healing.

Now there is an adage that says, ‘‘When a child falls down, he dusts himself up and continues his journey but when an elder falls, he looks back to determine the cause of the fall.’’ In looking back, I realised that I was buying Egusi seeds from market, grinding them there and adding to my soup directly without having prepared them sanitarily. In addition, the grinding machine used at the market was always dirty and a broom was used to sweep out whatever stuck to the grinder. Now I buy the Egusi seeds, pick them and grind at home with my blender.

Another benefit I noticed in this natural means of treatment is not only that it works more rapid than I thought but also how cheap and accessible it is. I got some activated charcoal for 400 Naira per container( I bought six out of desperation) and the Aloe Vera was growing within my compound on my flower bed.

Lastly in using natural remedies, I had no need to be a slave to drugs. The ailment was cured completely and not managed. Many a people are slaves to drugs; a day without the pill would be agonizing for them, this surely isn’t true healing. Healing means to be cured entirely from an ailment and not to manage symptoms. If we would follow God’s healing way of living by the Eight laws, using herbs when necessary and trusting Him completely, we should be in good health and avert a myriad of diseases. Natural remedies do work, what we need is a knowledge of what, how and to use them and healing would be granted by the very One who gave these remedies. Health will be granted and service to the Lord will be possible as these are practiced.

Population Control Via Abortion

by Victor Chikaleke

More than 13 million abortions take place yearly in China. Every hour, about 1,500 abortions take place in China. Many infants, if not aborted, are abandoned or kidnapped and trafficked. Almost 400 million babies have been aborted in China since the one-child policy started! The draconian one-child policy aimed at taming the 'wild' population has only resulted into multiple cases of rape, abduction, prostitution, female slavery, incest, abortion, divorce, STD's and suicides. But research has shown, with overwhelming evidence, that the population 'problem' is false. There is enough land in every country to contain its population. If the government would encourage people to spread into country (rural) places and not crowd into cities, the man-made illusionary problem of overpopulation will be solved. China is not overpopulated. There are not too many people. The problem is that there are too many people on too little land. It is the cities that are overpopulated. And it is the goal of the government to move all its populations into cities.

From 2010 to 2025, it is estimated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development that 300 million Chinese now living in rural areas will move into cities. As of 2022, China had an urbanization rate of 64.7% and was expected to reach 75-80% by 2035. God commanded that man multiplies and fills (spreads all over) the earth. Genesis 1:28. A law therefore which seeks to stall population increase and to pack people into cities instead of spreading across the vast lands of the country is an anti-God law which must be resisted firmly and surely. Such law was invented by Satan to plunge people into more immoralities and depravities until whole nations are plunged into eternal ruin.

China is stained red with the blood of countless innocent babies who have needlessly been slaughtered for decades on the altar of the selfish heart of man. If God's commands were obeyed, there would be no need for such drastic and devilish measures to control population. China is in urgent need of the Everlasting Gospel and the Three Angels Message. Let us pray for China and the rest of the world in similar bondage.

The Hand that Intervenes

an angry mob held powerless by william a spicer

Summarised by Fred Felix

Dr. Adam Clarke was a pioneer of the Methodist church, an itinerant preacher of the gospel. He had many experiences in this work of teaching and preaching. We look at one here. He laboured in a place highly prejudiced against the gospel. Yet he was glad for it.

During one of his discourses, about 30 minutes into it, an outrageous mob surrounded the building with all kinds of instruments to kill and destroy. At this point, some people inside shut the door while Mr Adam continued to encourage the people. The mob started to throw stones and all kinds of things at the building, destroying both the windows and the tiles and roof. One of the evil men came to the side where Mr. Adam was and shot at him with a gun, but the bullet didn’t fire. Soon they started taking off the pillars of the house.

Mr. Adam at this point decided to go out and face the mob so as to protect the lives of the brethren. Disregarding the dissuasions of brethren against such a step, he went out, committing his life into God’s hand. As he stepped out, some stones and dirt were thrown at him, but he was not hurt. Then he began to walk through them and they parted to the right hand and left. There was a very deep silence also, as if the mob were all dead. Do you remember the experience of Jesus in Luke 4:30? Jesus walked through a mob too unhurt! Amazing! God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

A Poem: Lawve

by Victor Chikaleke and Fawehinmi Oluwatobi

When I...

Ponder the word Love,

I wonder that this must be possibly the most

misunderstood word in humanity's.

Each of us has such a skewed concept of love that

sometimes I retort to myself; This is nothing but

insanity!

Love is not in the least lawless.

On the contrary love is law in action and law is

loving moral strictness.

We think of God's Law as being void of love,

sympathy and empathy.

We consider His Law as being full of burning

judgment and apathy.

And so we have invented, concocted and embraced

our own poisonous soup of love;

We have rejected the truth and have devised a love

so far from the true but so cherished by the youth.

Namby pamby, it is the anthem of humanity crew.

It is a ...

Love that serenades only pleasant songs to soothe

the ears.

A love that always flatters and pumps,

It inflates with airy lies,

It seeks with painful effort not to offend or to

produce tears or cries.

This kind of love comes not from above and only

lowers the soul!

Strange infatuation! It comes from beneath!

Would you know that whom the father loves he

disciplines, corrects and chastens?

Foolish, sinful man thinks so much that he is all right

when he is so wrong.

Have you not heard that true love cuts to heal?

And that anything opposite is as a thief who comes

to steal?

For so are lies that kill.

Have you not heard that love commands when it

seeks to save?

Have you not heard that love rejoices only in the

truth? And with hot passion hates lies, all things evil

and uncouth? And because truth is often bitter,

sometimes love is bitter?

But a huge boost to the liver!

Love is extrovert; she doesn't mind only her own

business.

Love is vocal; she doesn't keep silent when she

should speak.

To save, she lifts up her voice to its peak!

Love is firm; she doesn't bend because of

circumstances.

She shapes them!

Love is frank; she tells you exactly what the matter

is.

Love is a master artist; she paints the picture as it is.

Law and love have kissed each other.

They are married and never to sunder.

Therefore what God has joined together.

Let no man dare put asunder!

Self-Examination

by Fawehinmi Oluwatobi

As you march on this year, add this to your daily seeking of the Lord if you have not, to search your heart and to know whether you are sound. This is a daily matter. 2 Corinthians 13:5 says, Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

‘‘There is great necessity for close self-examination in the light of God's word; let each one raise the inquiry: Am I sound, or am I rotten at heart? Am I renewed in Christ, or am I still carnal at heart, with a new dress put on the outside?" Testimonies Volume 2 144.1

How do we get this done? We read the following:

"There is much in the conduct of a minister that he can improve. Many see and feel their lack, yet they seem to be ignorant of the influence they exert. They are conscious of their actions as they perform them, but suffer them to pass from their memory, and therefore do not reform. If ministers would make the actions of each day a subject of careful thought and deliberate review, with the object to become acquainted with their own habits of life, they would better know themselves. By a close scrutiny of their daily life under all circumstances they would know their own motives, the principles which actuate them. This daily review of our acts, to see whether conscience approves or condemns, is necessary for all who wish to arrive at the perfection of Christian character." Testimonies Volume 2, p 511.2

Some Points To Note

  • If you desire to arrive at perfection of Christian character, you would affirm with me that we must not think that the foregoing quotation is for ministers in the pulpit alone or full time ministers. It applies to all Christians.

  • Make the actions of each day a subject of careful thought and deliberate review.

  • Become acquainted with our own habits of life.

  • Self-examination would lead to discovering the motives that actuate us.

  • If we wish to perfect Christian character, this activity is a must.

    Therefore, as we see the Second Coming fast approaching, we must, "Guard jealously your hours for prayer, Bible study, and self-examination. Set aside a portion of each day for a study of the Scriptures and communion with God. Thus you will obtain spiritual strength, and will grow in favor with God. He alone can give you noble aspirations; He alone can fashion the character after the divine similitude." Gospel Workers p 100.

Charcoal

By Calvin Thrash, M.D. From Ucheepines counselling sheets.

www.ucheepines.org

Many old-fashioned remedies have fallen by the wayside, because close scrutiny has revealed them to be no more than old wives tales, or worse, even harmful to the body. Witness "a little whisky for a cold," or using cigarette smoke to control babies' coughs. However, in the mad scientific rush to abandon nonpharmaceutical therapies, some remedies that had a basis in physiology were also deserted, being too time-consuming (or simply too unsophisticated) to continue their practice. Charcoal seems to fit in this category. In bygone days, people understood that cleansing the body systems assisted in prevention and treatment of disease. Now we have come full circle to realize the importance of the elimination of toxins and polluting chemicals in regaining of normal health.

The secret of charcoal's power is adsorption. Through an electrostatic charge, the charcoal granule draws poisons to it, attaching them to its surface - bound, as it were - so they can be safely removed. Thus the body can proceed with the healing process uninhibited by noxious chemicals or drugs. Since the action of charcoal is to adsorb, and it adds no "drug" to the blood, it is ideal for use as a poison control agent. In fact, most hospital emergency rooms use a charcoal solution for overdoses and accidental poisonings. The F.D.A. has found charcoal effective in adsorbing many poisons, gases, and drugs. In fact, it has been called "The Universal Antidote." Since charcoal works by adsorption (as opposed to absorption) a discussion of just what the term means is merited. The definition of adsorption is the attachment of a substance to the surface of another. This "binding" prevents the subsequent release of the toxin at a later time, which could occur if the material were simply "soaked up," or absorbed. Of course, activated charcoal is not the only adsorbent material in the world, , it simply is one of the most powerful - certainly for the money.

Most other adsorbents available have a price tag at least a third more, if not double the cost of activated charcoal. Because charcoal is nearly pure carbon, the risks in using it are practically non-existent. Numerous studies both with animals and results in humans have shown that regular ingestion of even large quantities of charcoal have produced no detectable side effects. Equally important, studies of toxicity regarding skin contact and inhalation also have shown no side effects. This means, then, that the possibilities for "detox," poison control, clearing intestinal problems, and allergic reactions are enormous. It is also possible, as a Soviet study suggests, that the reduction of pollutants and toxins, as well as cholesterol-reducing tendency by activated charcoal, may be a factor toward anti-aging and life extension. While no one is suggesting that activated charcoal is a "cure-all," it has certainly proven amazing in its results… Next edition we shall look at uses and testimonials of effects of Charcoal.

Who is the Messiah?

Over time we have observed the state of our nation and how the powers that be seek to have a firm grip of our finances. We have seen a redesign of the currency, rolling out of new policies, effects of the redesign and lastly the means through which we shall go cashless. The aim of these observations is to ready ourselves for the time to come, where all men would be brought to a point of decision, those who stand for the true wonderful words of life or those who seek to exalt the wisdom of men. Of these wonderful words of Life, the psalmist proclaimed “The words of the LORD are pure words: As silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” Psalm 12:6 KJV But of the wisdom of men; “…for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.” Isaiah 29:14 KJV

Currently, the country is preparing for its general elections. Campaigns have begun across different states. Each Presidential candidate seeks to promote himself as the one who would bring the country from its low state to an exalted one. Some have traveled around the world with cameras behind them, claiming to study the methods of other nations doing well in a sector, hoping to implement them on appointment. Another candidate markets his skill in managing the human resource as well as raising leaders, while another moves silently looking to roll out wads of cash at any obstacle. Some have proclaimed to be the Messiah of the country while others plead for a chance to revive the country.

In the midst of these campaigns are many Nigerians who believe the candidates as worthy and pipe the songs of the one who appeals to their minds. They lay their hopes on individuals that redemption might be brought to the land and current afflictions as well as tragic events would be blotted out by attainment of the presidential seat. Shall we lay our hopes on man, shall we not trust in the Lord? (Read 1 Cor 3:21) The solution is found in the following text: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

All men must keep in mind that we are to “… seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 KJV The mind should be engulfed by the thought of the kingdom of God, the actions should, every moment, seek to attain this kingdom. Only in this kingdom can the true desires of man be satisfied. In this kingdom love is bountiful; a kingdom that is eternal, flowing with wonderful peace from the Father.

This kingdom of perfection has been promised to all “…..who doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” Matthew 7:21 KJV To do the will of the Father, we must daily ponder the life of Christ, His teachings, character and love manifested all through His walk on earth. Only through Christ can we gain access to the Father as He replied Thomas saying, “……..I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 KJV We are counseled by Paul, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2 KJV

Christ bids us “come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28 KJV Shall we take that step of faith? In taking this step of faith, the great promise has been given. Amen

WHat You were not told about china

prevalence of diseases and disabilities

If you have watched modern Chinese movies, you would have noticed that they usually project some of their best and most good looking citizens to the world. They show you their beautiful women. They show you their strong and humorous men. They show you their intelligent scholars, renowned scientists, inventors, business lords, etc. but they do not show you the fact that:

There are close to 700 million city dwellers in China majority of whom are locked out of God;

That there are about 80 million disabled people in China.;

That there are about 15 million blind people in China;

That there are about 92 million people suffering from diabetes in China;

That there are over 10 million mentally retarded people in China;

That there are at least 1.5 million autistic people in China out of which children number 700,000;

That there are at least 720,000 people that are affected by schistosomiasis in China;

That there are 160 million (one in eight) aged people in China. Every year the population of aged people in China increases by 8 million!

The list goes on...

These are startling facts which Satan keeps hiding away from God's people so that China would be thought of as being well and so that earnest efforts would not be exerted by God's people for their salvation.

You have read this information. It is real, even worse than presented. What will you do about it? Will you pray for the Chinese? God has given us Seventh Day Adventists the truth for this time. We have the Three Angels' Message and we have the Health Message which can go forth to the Chinese through earnest Medical Missionary Work. Other nations of the world are waiting for the Everlasting Gospel to be preached to them. Remember, you can no longer say you never knew. The message has been delivered. It is left for you to act on it.

Testimony Corner

There are many things I believed were normal; many physical abnormalities and wrong perceptions as being signs of aging. Since 2020, I have sufferred severe Cutis verticis gyrata (CVG) also known as Bulldog scalp, which is a rare benign cutaneous disorder that is characterized by convoluted folds and deep furrows of the scalp that mimic cerebral sulci and gyri.

Although it was shameful for me to move around having these tight folds on my head, I didn't consider them to be a problem because I thought they were simply excess fat in my body that found its way to my head. Funny, right? As a matter of fact, if it weren’t for comments from a number of persons, I would never have considered it an abnormality.

After searching out treatments for CVG, I became discouraged because of its cost. I decided in my heart to no longer cut my hair to a level where the folds would be visible. That would be a cheaper solution, I thought.

Last year December, my feet began to feel very light, causing a loss of balance and feeble footing on the ground. After lots of research and few consultations, I came to realise that I was dehydrated. Hitherto, I was having less than 7 cups of water daily. In a broader sense, I learnt more that there are laws of health that must be obeyed ( nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air, rest, trust in God) and in keeping of them the body would be in the best condition to heal itself.

Applying the laws in eating, daily exercise in farming and other activities in the open air and morning sun, an increase in water drinking, being temperate, sleeping early and well, and committing my life to God daily, I began to enjoy a daily improvement of health. Added to these immutable laws, I have been on green juices, Burdock supplements, a powerful antioxidant that removes toxins from the blood and Golden seal which helps with its antibacterial and anti- inflammatory properties.

on the other hand, I must emphasize that my daily water intake was upped from 4 cups to 20 cups. I was shocked to observe my body absorb that volume of water without peeing several times through the day. Of a truth, I was dehydrated.

A few days into this cleansing program and water drinking, my feet became steady and firm again on the ground, I regained balance. Soon, family members shared with me that the folds on my head had DRASTICALLY reduced! This was so amazing to me because I didn't think to treat it neither did I know any other way than surgery which I had read about.

I have been learning great lessons from this ongoing healing. I am learning that all the body needs are clean blood and good conditions and it would heal itself as these laws given to us by our heavenly Father are kept and obeyed through His divine help. I praise the Lord for these immutable laws!

A Poem: The Nice Creed

To the well informed Christian,

You might have thought for a moment that the heading for this piece has a typo and should have read, "The Nicene Creed"

But no, it is no typo. It is what it says.

The subject of this piece has no connection to the Nicene creed.

Neither does it have to do with the Council of Nicea.

And, yea, it has nothing to do with the French city, Nice.

Many today daily pledge allegiance to this creed,

But in this piece, I seek not to be nice but to speak the truth as it is. I

seek to address this pernicious and cancerous belief of being nice.

For false ideas only misshape, They cost a huge price.

Hear me well. This thing about being nice is out of helm,

Many ships have been wrecked and countless more are heading to mayhem.

What makes it odious is that it purports itself as Christ's brand.

I hear its sensual "flesh-feel-good" music in the streets, in the alleys, in the fields and in the buildings and everywhere where the sons of men converse;

Be nice! Be nice to me! Then I will be nice to you!

This call to be nice seems to me to be saying:

Take me as I am and leave me as I am, let me be then I know you love me.

It seems to be saying: Dote on me and give me soft landing...

It seems to me to say: Never give commands, only beseech.

It seems to be saying: Don't you tell me I am wrong when I am wrong.

Only praise and sing me a wonderful song.

It seems to be saying: Pity me, do you not see, I am as frail as eggshells, I would crack.

It seems to be saying: Empathize, wear my shoes, support, love and tolerate my evils.

It seems to be saying: Smile with me even when you are not happy with me.

You have no right to be offended at me.

It seems to be saying: If you are not nice to me, you're a serpent, a devil, a legalist, a hardline extremist, an enemy of society, an advocate of hate speech.

It seems to be saying: Oh you forthright man, why so stern?

Speak only in unclear terms! Beat about the bush a little!

Never tell a man that he has erred!

I have seen and heard it, It tells me to conceal evil and never expose it.

It tells me to be friends with evil men and only see their good and die by their scorpion stings while they never repent!

Oh how did humanity get here?!

But I say: Jesus, our great Example, was not nice.

No, not even by an inch!

"Oh, you must be mistaken, sire”, you might say.

Wait a moment, and I will prove it.

No doubt, He was loving but don't forget that He was just and

righteous and discerning.

Jesus forgave sins freely but also said with no cloak, Sin No More.

Jesus bound the broken hearted with His cords of love and mercy

to Himself but also took cords and drove out the temple

merchants. That is certainly not nice! When righteousness meets

sin, it never is nice!

Jesus is the Sun of righteousness with healing in His wings to

broken men but He also is a consuming fire to sinners and sin.

He bestowed blessings upon contrite men but also pronounced

woes on the Pharisaic of men.

He sits on the Mercy seat but right beneath His seat is His Law so

fiery.

He called Judas, Friend! But He called Peter, Satan! Paradoxical,

wasn't it?!

He gently invited some to come to Him, but others He

commanded, Follow me!

Very few realize that love commands when it seeks to save.

Again I say: Jesus wasn't nice. He simply was loving, just and

righteous.

Get this straight.

The Hand that Intervenes: The Unseen Protector

by William A Spicer

Charles Wesley was one of the founders of Methodism. In the year 1743, a meeting was held in a market place during which men who were supposed to be attentive tried closing their ears from hearing the word of truth. Next, they tried to silence Charles Wesley by going after him, but they had no success. While traveling to Bristol, he had the longest experience with a mob. The people (the mob), were all around where he was lodged that coming out was difficult. Accidentally, a hand fire engine was used to pour water into the house where Charles Wesley lodged with his companion. They had intended to burn the house. Many more mistakes were made, all working out to the glory of God and their good. Wesley and his brethren inside were terrified with all the shouting and threats they were hearing, it was only by a miracle the mob wasn’t able to get in. The brethren continued in prayer, seeking the face of God after which they continued to interact as usual, trusting that God would deliver them. The mob was coming closer and closer that they started taking off the tiling of the roof when one of the mob shouted, "They are behind the curtain!" Immediately they all went to another corner of the house. At this point, they expected the mob to come in without trouble, but our Lord that calmed the troubled sea calmed the mob. Wesley wondered what happened with the mob for the sudden silence. God had stopped them! He had an unseen Protector. May this be our experience as we put our hands to plough.

LAYING UP TREASURE IN HEAVEN

Do you get worried when your bank account is low or maybe empty? Do you hoard resources so that you can spend them on your lusts? Is it your burning desire to be rich in this world; to have a lot of money, many houses and assets? Why do you want bigger pay?

Proverbs 23:4 ‘‘Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. ‘‘

Jesus warns, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth…” But why would He tell us so? He explains, “Where moth and rust doth corrupt (or make to go bad) and where thieves break through and steal.” This verse addresses paper money or physical tenders and coins. Did you see or hear the news of many who hoarded millions of naira notes that were discovered later on, decaying and no longer useable? And now we are going cashless, even worse! Nothing on this earth is as enduring as being in Christ. Everything manmade will perish but the riches of heaven will never pass away.

If we amass, thieves will come for that wealth. Imagine the sense of insecurity! What is the cure? He says, “Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be.” When we lay up treasures in heaven, we read that it is for our own benefit. Think about it. Those riches are as enduring as the life of God. What then are heavenly treasures or riches?

Ellen White explains it well; “The disciples of Christ are called His jewels, His precious and peculiar treasure. He says, “They shall be as stones of a crown.” “I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.” Zechariah 9:16; Isaiah 13:12. Christ looks upon His people in their purity and perfection as the reward of all His sufferings, His humiliation, and His love, and the supplement of His glory — Christ, the great Center, from whom radiates all glory.” Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing p 89

To join Him in this work of saving souls as we labour for ours with fear and trembling is laying up treasure in heaven “And every word or deed that through the grace of Christ shall kindle in one soul an impulse that reaches heavenward, every effort that tends to the formation of a Christlike character, is laying up treasure in heaven.” Ibid 90.

Where is your heart? This is a heart issue. If your heart is not daily being converted, it would be on the things of earth but if converted to Jesus, all your interests would be in Him. Where is your heart?

An Urgent Call for Labourers

Manna House

The problem of labourers is an ancient one; one that continues to plague the work of God. There is a lack of true labourers in God's vineyard which seems to be retarding the work. Everywhere there is an abundance of workers, employees and hirelings who come into the LORD'S work for filthy lucre and selfish interests. But God needs true men right now.

‘All ‘around us souls are perishing in their sins. But how few are really burdened over the matter. The world is perishing in its misery; but this hardly moves even those who claim to believe the highest and most far-reaching truth ever given to mortals. There is a lack of that love which led Christ to leave his heavenly home, and take man's nature, that humanity might touch humanity, and draw humanity to divinity. There is a stupor, a paralysis, upon the people of God, which keeps them from understanding what is needed for this time.’’ PH004. 20

God calls for men and women to qualify themselves, by consecration to his will and earnest study of the Scriptures, to do his special work for these last days. He calls for men now who can work. As they engage in the work in sincerity and humility to do all they can, they will be obtaining a more thorough experience. They will have a better knowledge of the truth and better know how to reach souls and help them just where they need to be helped. Workmen are needed now, just now, to labor for God. The fields are already white for the harvest, and yet laborers are few. There are those among us who could work if they were awake to the wants of the cause, and were willing to bear burdens. God calls for men and women, who are followers of Christ, to volunteer to work under his dictation to rescue souls from ruin. All who engage in the work of presenting the truth to others must have true courtesy, and Christian politeness, and sincere love for souls, so as to make, not general efforts merely, but personal efforts. (TrueMiss January 01, 1874, par 8) The world is perishing for want of truth. The harvest truly is plenteous but the labourers are few. Who will go for Us? Who will go to enlighten the world?

Christ Our Righteousness

If there were to be any time more than another, this is the time that the church is to put on her beautiful garments --- “Christ our righteousness.” Inspiration from the writings of E. G. White, says, “There are clear, decided distinctions to be restored and exemplified to the world in holding aloft the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” TM p 16.

The world and the disloyal are in darkness and deformity of not only mental and spiritual but even physical. They have revolted against the law of God. If we acknowledge God and recognize His law, which is the foundation of His government in heaven and throughout His earthly dominions, the beauty of holiness is to shine brightly in us now. We must recognize His authority and make it plain and recognizably different from the world. Any law that comes in collision with God’s law we cannot acknowledge or honour. If we allow the world to influence our decisions or our actions we shall defeat His purpose for us.

IF THE CHURCH WAVER HERE THERE IS WRITTEN AGAINST HER IN THE BOOKS OF HEAVEN A BETRAYAL OF THE MOST SACRED TRUST, AND TREACHERY TO THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST.

MANY WILL BE LED TO GLORIFY OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN IF WE, FIRMLY AND DECIDEDLY, HOLD GOD’S PRINCIPLES BEFORE THE WHOLE HEAVENLY UNIVERSE AND THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD.

Yes, steadfast faithfulness in maintaining the honour and sacredness of the law of God will attract the notice and admiration of the world. Many will be led to glorify God because of the good works they see. Then all men will know who are God’s true disciples. They will know who are the chosen and faithful and who will possess the eternal glory. Revelation 18 gives us a glimpse of the work to be done. Do you want to be with this angel coming down from heaven with great power lighting the earth with his glory? Revelation 18:1

Do you want to see Jesus and be like Him? 1 John 3:2

Who shall stand for the truth?

In our last article, we looked at the Central Bank of Nigeria make a move to redesign the naira notes, this was to help fix a list of underlying issues affecting both the economy and state of the country. As expected, the knowledge of man has always failed to hit the desired result or provide a permanent solution. Every attempt leads to the fulfilment of what scripture has foretold of the latter days. In this article, we shall look at another effect of the naira redesign. Due to the short amount of time given by the apex bank of Nigeria to phase out the old currency notes, commercial banks have in return sought to handle the pressure by demanding their workers to extend their work days to Saturday. One might ask, “Why is this so much of a big deal?” As believers in the words of the Bible, who hold the written word of God dear to our hearts, we must “Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.” Exodus 20:8 It further reads “Six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:” Exodus 20:9-10KJV It is common knowledge that the seventh day of the week is Saturday (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset ). And it is on this same day the banks require their workers to clock in to meet a demand, there by opposing the direct command of the Lord God! This brings those workers who desire to keep the commands of the Lord to a point of decision. They may think to themselves, “Shall I stand for the right?” If I do stand for the right, how do I earn a living? But then the question, has anyone loyal to the instruction of the Lord ever been left disappointed ? When Abraham, the father of faith obeyed the direct instruction to sacrifice his only son Isaac it counted for great gain! Even though to the human mind it made no sense, but the Lord will have us entirely sold out to Him alone. The counsel given to us in times of trial is that we “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;” Ephesians 6:11, 14 KJV We are asked to make truth our watchword, no form of compromise should be entertained, that the word of God be held on to dearly with hope and surely victory will be granted as we stay loyal to our Lord. As we asked at the beginning, “Who shall stand for the truth?” Those who have a solid and mature knowledge of truth, who obey it and are sanctified by it.

A Poem : Bornew

It is clear to me that as I age,

Trials are sure to increase at every stage.

In response I could choose one of two ways;

To be hardened in heart as Pharaoh;

Or to be softened in heart as John.

To choose my set ways and set manners;

Or to surrender my say under God’s banner.

To choose the old man of sin, grown and set in evil ways in;

Or the new man childlike, discerning and easy to bend.

To love malice and to find everyone an enemy;

Or to be forgiving, loving, speaking the truth to all, to sundry.

To be cynical, unbelieving of what man can be;

Or to trust God as a child his father that all things are possible to him that believes, trusting Him to work His wonders as He sees fit.

to remain unconverted, wicked, unchanged;

Or to be born again, faithful, true and BORN NEW

The Hand that Intervenes

The early times of Methodism were a period pervaded with rationalism and formalism. There was a man at this time named John Nelson, who was a stone cutter. He was also a teacher of the gospel. He was out on the street one day, teaching and calling men to the way of the Lord, but was surrounded by a mob who started to distract by ringing very big and loud bells, in order to stop people from hearing while efforts were made to carry out an evil plot of placing a rope around Nelson’s neck to drag him into a river to drown him. A half crazed man came toward Nelson to put the rope on his neck but Nelson pushed off the rope. About this time an officer approached Nelson to arrest him when Nelson immediately charged him to do his duty, to which the officer asked what he meant. He charged him in the name of the king to put a stop to the trouble and deliver him from the mob. Pale, the officer did exactly what was commanded of him! Amazing!
