A Health testimony
God never leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led if they could see the end from the beginning and discern the glory of the purpose which they are fulfilling as co-workers with Him. HDL 19.1
Looking back five years ago, I testify to the above testament. As a catholic at Babcock University, I took a course on health principles that convinced me to try vegetarianism. That led to a trail of events that would get me baptised and trained with LIGHT evangelism. I would have fled if I understood what choosing to reform my health meant, but God took me step by step, never giving me any temptation I could not bear.
What have been the challenges? The decision to abstain from a flesh diet, moderately eat that which is good, and refrain totally from that which harms the body and intoxicates the mind is a principle that only God could have given me the grace to abide by these past years. The roller-coaster relationship with family, the drastic loss of weight, friends and relationships and the plagues of the devil or flesh taunting you to change your mind. However, these are not comparable to the joy and peace I have found in Christ. As I grow, I look forward to the expected end God has for me. With more understanding, I see my weakness and the need and mercy to know these counsels of the Spirit of Prophecy. Reading books such as Mind Character and Personality, Ministry of Healing and Counsels on Food and Diet is a privilege.
The mental enhancement from sound sleep and quicker understanding kept me on a first-class throughout my undergraduate days and got me a scholarship for my Masters in Nutrition. Freedom from intoxicating substances has given me such a calmness of mind and depth of thought, which has made me instrumental in strategic decisions and executing goals of organisations I have worked for as a Manager.
What about the wonderful angels I have met in this walk who have been as constant guides, family and confidant to me: Manoah and Benjamin Agayong, Dr Atolagbe and Isioma Ogbuehi.
I relate to Matthew 19:29 - And everyone that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
All I have thankfully lost from following God’s will regarding health, I have gained in much more value God’s blessing. I pray to be even more faithful as I look forward to more opportunities to work in God’s vineyard, everlasting bliss and treasure in heaven.
