In our last article we began looking into the channels of elimination. We have talked about the lungs, the kidneys and the lymphatic system.There are seven channels- seven systems in that are responsible for making sure that the blood is clean. These channels have been equipped by nature to do perfect work but since we have the power of choice we often through ignorance or willful disobedience put burdens on these channels and make their work heavy till they can no longer do efficient work. In this article we are going to take a look at the other 4 channels of elimination. A little effort based on true intelligence on how these channels do their work can go a long way to enhance optimum health.
The other four channels are: The blood itself, the skin, the liver and the colon.
THE BLOOD
How is the blood a channel of elimination? It seems a paradox but it is the fact. The blood supplies every cell in the body with oxygen. These are up to 60 trillion cells that are supplied with nutrients. The blood is the carrier of the substances that cleans the blood. The blood not only transports nutrients but also carries away wastes and delivers messages via the hormones it carries from the endocrine glands. As a front line of defense, it destroys threatening invaders. Life is supported on a cellular level. Life processes proceed or fail on a cellular level and it is the blood that reaches every cell in the body. Be good to your blood. Tired blood results in a tired immune system, leading to increased health risks and increased premature aging.
How can a person be good to his blood?
Through our daily choices of obedience to the laws of health we can be good to our blood. We make good blood by choosing natural wholesome food, eating the food at the right time and not eating between meals. Without good circulation good blood is worthless. Physical exercise helps good circulation. A sedentary lifestyle is unfriendly to the blood. Wherever blood doesn’t reach the major signal is pain. Pain anywhere is an indicator that the area is poorly oxygenated. Jamming our body with medications to stop pains does not solve the problem as this only quiets the signal. The secret is to find out the cause of the pain and make the necessary lifestyle changes to get rid of the problem.
THE SKIN
The skin has been referred to as the body’s frontier and its acid mantle, among other descriptive terms. From birth through life, this thin, sensitive, elastic covering is exposed to more disease and injury than any other tissue of the body, from the scalp to the soles of the feet. The skin is literally assaulted directly and indirectly, inside and outside, by countless traumas. There is an inter-relationship between the stomach and the skin. Unless glands in the walls of the stomach secret sufficient hydrochloric acid, the skin can lose its surface acidity, inviting infection. In addition, frequent washing with soaps, most of which are alkaline, removes all the protective oil as well as the acidity. Aging results more from loss of moisture than from loss of oil. It is the working together of the diet, in proper digestion, assimilation and elimination that promotes a healthy completion. Gentle friction, by the use of a skin brush, cleanses skin deep without removing the entire protective mantle. Use of Epsom salt also helps in cleaning the skin.
How about creams applied on skin to make it beautiful?
A lot of caution is needed when it comes to creams and lotions applications to the skin. The absorptive ability of the skin is demonstrated when garlic is applied to the soles of the feet. Almost instantaneously after the application the pungent odors are detectable on the breath. It has been demonstrated in the cases of external feeding using a mixture of vitamins, oils, enzymes and minerals applied to the skin. The applications were absorbed by the skin to keep comatose patients alive and well nourished. Sometimes these patients were nourished for as long as a month or two, without loss of weight. So, whatever is applied on the skin goes into the cells all over the body. Therefore pollutants and carcinogens must be avoided. Adequate water intake is very important to help the skin in its cleaning assignment. Exercising to the point of perspiration is crucial in the elimination of toxins. Nutrition is of paramount importance to the skin, especially eating plenty of fresh greens and fresh raw fruits.
Do deodorants help the skin in its work?
Deodorants usually contain a form of aluminum, which causes more problems to the body as it suppresses normal perspiration, which should have no odor unless there is a toxic condition. There are reliable deodorants, which contain no harmful substances. Sponging with a solution of baking soda or Epsom salt and water is effective for some. Others have found the use of lemon juice beneficial. The best deodorant is a clean intestine and bowel. A warm bath followed by a cool or cold splash would complete this beauty treatment.
THE LIVER
A very important organ in the human body is the liver. It lies mainly in the right side of the upper abdomen under the diaphragm and the ribs. The liver is the largest organ in the body and one of the most important for maintaining health. Without the liver there can be no life. The liver performs approximately 500 functions and still counting.
It acts as:
an incinerator in which wastes of the body are burned, providing warmth
as a vascular sponge which soaks up excess blood;
as a chemical processing plant for breaking down certain substances and manufacturing others;
as a reservoir of storage for different food elements for release as the body requires them.
