Many are seeking for miracles of healing, financial breakthrough and the likes while losing sight of the greatest of all miracles that no human being can ever perform but God - the conversion of a human soul from Satanic rule to Christ's rule. Let us think it through together. Figuratively, where is the most chaotic battleground, greater than all World Wars combined? Where have all the World Wars emanated from? And where do strife and fights come from? Where do all sins such as hatred of God, loving money, sexual immorality, theft dwell?
Let us read some verses to answer these questions so we can both agree that the greatest miracle is the miracle of conversion and pursue later on in this article how this miracle can be sustained :
Jeremiah 17:9 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies...
What are the works or fruits of the human flesh? Consider that before there are fruits or works, there are thoughts. These things emanate from a ground or soil and that is the human heart or mind. Jesus refers to the human heart as soil in the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:1-23 and Luke 8:1-15.
Galatians 5:19-21 answer the question.
‘‘Now the practices of the sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), idolatry, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies], envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.’’ Galatians 5:19-21 AMP
What makes it worse is that it is impossible for man to make a change by himself. Jeremiah tells us, "Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil?" How can we change, we that love to do only bad things? How? This has to be the greatest miracle ever. Maybe we should ask, "Who can change us?: Instead of "how." Jesus answers simply, "You must be born again." Or "You must be born from above." Or "You must have a new heart." "Your motives must be new, your desires renewed, your aims renewed."
"God says: 'A new heart also will I give you.' Ezekiel 36:26. Is not this, the renewal of man, the greatest miracle that can be performed? What cannot the human agent do who by faith takes hold of the divine power?" {9T 152.1} Our work? Take hold of divine power and we shall be transformed.
"Unbelievers have inquired, 'Why are not miracles wrought among those who claim to be God's people?' “Brethren, the greatest miracle that can be wrought is the conversion of the human heart. We need to be reconverted, losing sight of self and human ideas, and beholding Christ, that we may be transformed into His likeness. When this, the greatest of all miracles, is wrought within our hearts, we shall see the working of other miracles." {19MR 49.3}
