Welcome to this new spotlight series about YOUR SELF. If you have always thought you knew yourself, this series is definitely for you. I pray the LORD speaks to your heart and works a transformation in you as you read through.
Lesson 1 - You Don't Deserve To Be Trusted
Do you trust yourself? If you trust yourself, you surely don't know yourself. In the world, what are we taught? We are taught to "Believe In ourselves!" Even motivational speakers will often charge their listeners with the electric words: "Believe in yourself!" But I ask, "is it really safe to believe in yourself?" "Are you worthy of being believed?" Hear the flaming answer from the Word of Truth: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9 And a man is what his heart is, hear: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he ... Proverbs 23:7a
Why then should you trust someone or something that is so deceitful and wicked? It makes no sense right?
The one whom you should be most distrustful of and most careful of is YOURSELF, not even the Devil. Why? Well, the Devil is known by all for who he is. But only few know themselves. That makes your SELF more dangerous than the Devil, for the enemy you know is better than the enemy you don't know. You are more dangerous than you think. You don't deserve all that trust you give yourself. Rather put your WHOLE TRUST in the LORD and not at all in yourself. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." Proverbs 3:5-8"
