Brother Hanserd was one of the most eminent of the early English dissenters. While in London, seeking to flee imprisonment, brother Hanserd was in a strait ; he had only enough to pay for his family’s lodging, nothing else.
Trusting to God’s infinite promise that He would never leave nor forsake His own, he encouraged his wife then went out trusting God’s providence.
About eight doors away from his lodge, a woman met him explaining to him that her husband sent word that a lodging had been provided for him and his family by some Christian friends. What surprise ! With joy he went with the woman and was given a good sum of money too.
He returned home and related all to his wife. After thanking God, they relocated to their new lodgings where all had been paid for for 15 weeks !
Proverbs 10 :3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish : but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
